Notes
The inscription provides the date as the 6th day of the Lord (Friday), the 15th day of the month Artemisios, in the year 351 according to the Era of the Province of Arabia, that is May 5, 456. The tombstone is one of about 700 discovered in Byzantine Zoora. The majority of the Greek tombstones from this location have been identified as Christian. The tombstone is rectangular in shape, but broken in the lower left and right corners. The inscribed surface has undergone some chipping and weathering. A cross is engraved to the left of the first line. An engraved bird is centered below the text, and to its right and to its right is a incised cross-rho within a circle. These images are worn, and only traces of them remain. The script is square.
