Notes
The inscription provides the day of Mercury during the month of Panemos in the year 244 according to Era of the Province of Arabia as the death date, or Wednesday between June 20, 349 CE and July 19, 349 CE. The tombstone is one of about 700 discovered in Byzantine Zoora. The majority of the Greek tombstones from this location have been identified as Christian. The inscription contains grammatical errors and is painted in a round script resembling that found in a professional manuscript. The tombstone is in relatively good condition aside from a horizontal fracture down its middle which split it into two separate pieces.
