Notes
"F. M. Abel dates the mosaic to ca. 500 on account of two points. Firstly, he reads Obodianos' title in the mosaic … as bishop, placing him at ca. 500 when there is a gap in the bishop list for Eleutheropolis (Zebennos 415, Gregory 518, Anastasios 536). Secondly, a coin recovered during the excavation was apparently minted in 527, providing a terminus ante quem, however, the precise context of the coin was not clarified."
